Restorative Dentist Prosper, TX

Past accidents, active decay, and unexpected tooth loss can make it difficult to eat, speak, or even smile. Our dentist is here to provide restorative dentistry to bring your smile back to its full health… or even better. We strive to make your smile healthy and happy.

BONE GRAFTING

Your jaw and facial bones provide support, structure, and protection to your teeth, nerves, and blood vessels. The particular height, shape, and density of this bone can be compromised due to gum disease, tooth removal, and other forms of trauma. For example, when a tooth is removed, patients will be left with a hole in their bone where the tooth once resided. While it will eventually fill in, the site tends to shrink, drawing bone away from adjacent teeth. Grafting materials can be placed at the time of tooth removal to help preserve the existing bone level. Bone grafts are especially beneficial if you are considering an implant-supported restoration in the future.

CROWNS

When teeth retain extensive decay, fractures, or old fillings, dentists can use crowns to give them a new life. A variety of materials can be used for crownsincluding various types of tooth-colored porcelain, gold, and base metal. Your dentist can help you select the best material to suit your smile– depending on your esthetic concerns, habits, and tooth location. We work closely with local laboratories to discuss patient-specific concerns and designs, to ensure that every patient is satisfied with their result. At least two trips to the dental office are required to fit a dental crown. First, the dentist will remove any decay or damage from the tooth, reshape it, and place a temporary crown made of acrylic. At your second visit, a staff member will remove the temporary dental crown, before fitting and adjusting the final crown. The final crown will be seated and permanently sealed with cement, to ensure its long term health and stability.
